The offseason is the perfect opportunity for fans to talk as much trash as possible and remind other programs why they are better than them. This is an easy thing for Georgia football to do because they are the clear top dog in the SEC.
Since Georgia is clearly the best program in the conference, they are the measuring stick for every other team in the SEC. So whenever a program finds a little success against the Bulldogs, they will cling to that as much as possible.
But out of every team in the SEC, it was somehow Missouri who decided to take a shot at Georgia.
Missouri attempts to troll Georgia football
In the linked social media post above, Missouri posted multiple pictures with the captions "the photo we recently hesitate to post" versus "the photo we posted in 2013 with absolutely zero hesitation." 2013 was the first of two seasons that Missouri made it to the SEC Championship game, a game they ultimately lost to Auburn 59-42.
Simply making it to the SEC Championship game is a huge a deal and worth celebrating, especially for a program like Missouri. But in the process of celebrating this accomplishment, the Tigers posted a picture of their dominant 41-26 win at Sanford Stadium from the 2013 season.
As mentioned, winning the SEC East and making it to Atalanta for the SEC Championshop game is a big deal. Beating Georgia at home is a pretty big deal as well. But considering how the series has gone between these two teams since 2013, Missouri maybe should have picked a different team to troll.
Since losing to Missouri in 2013, the Bulldogs have rattled off 10 straight wins against the Tigers. This includes a 34-0 shellacking the very next season in Columbia.
As mentioned, Georgia is the gold standard of SEC football, so if the price they have to pay is being reminded of a loss over a decade ago, then so be it.
