Georgia football just suffered another heartbreaking loss to Alabama on Saturday, but the Bulldogs have no time to dwell on that loss. UGA has another SEC matchup looming this weekend, and Georgia needs to have their full attention on this game if they are going to win.

The good news for Georgia is that their next opponent is Kentucky who is the easiest opponent they will play this season in the SEC. Even if that is the case though, the opening spread for this game shows Vegas is lacking a little confidence in Georgia after their loss to Alabama.

Vegas not as confident in Georgia against Kentucky

FanDuel Sportsbook currently lists Georgia as a 21.5 point favorite against Kentucky in their opening spread. The over-under for the game is set at 49.5 points as well.

21.5 points may seem like a lot, but the talent descrepancy is massive between these two teams. Georgia has one of the best rosters in the country who has proven themselves this season by winning at Tennessee and coming up just short against Alabama. Kentucky on the other hand looks like the worst team in the SEC.

The Wildcats are an ugly 2-2 this year and are fresh off losing to South Carolina 35-13 this weekend. The Gamecocks are not the same team as last year, so if they can beat Kentucky by 22 then Georgia should expect to win by more. But that’s not what Vegas thinks.

Vegas might be slightly overreacting to Georgia’s loss this weekend even though a three point loss to Alabama isn’t a bad result. But for some unknown reason they don’t think Georgia is good enough to list this spread much higher.

It will be fun to see if this spread moves throughout the week or not, but either way Georgia needs a bounce back performance. And playing a weak team like Kentucky is the perfect opportunity to get their season back on track.
