Can Georgia football win a National Championship? That is the goal and expectation at Georgia under Kirby Smart, and it’s a goal the Bulldogs have come up short on two years in a row now.

The Bulldogs now enter the 2025 season with more questions than answers, which is a very scary thing for a team with championship aspirations. However, Georgia still has one of the best rosters in the country, so it’s just a matter of the staff putting all the pieces together.

That obviously is easier said than done, but if anyone has shown they can reload their roster every season it is Smart who has done so year after year in the best conference in the country.

So while some college football fans are ready to write off the Bulldogs, some are smarter than that because they know it’s unlikely that Georgia will fall out of the group of teams competing for titles every season. And Vegas Oddsmakers fall into that category as they give Georgia great odds to win the national title next season.

Georgia has third best odds to win national title

According to the above post, Georgia has the third best odds in the country to win the National Championship next season at 6.5-1. This means that for every dollar bet on Georgia to win, $6.50 would be returned if the Bulldogs actually bring home the title.

These odds fall behind the defending National Champion Ohio State Buckeyes which makes a lot of sense. However, Georgia is also behind Texas which makes a lot less sense.

The biggest question mark surrounding Georgia this coming season is at quarterback as the Bulldogs will have a new starter in the fall. However, Gunner Stockton, who is most likely to win the starting job, already showed that he can beat Texas when he led the Bulldogs to a come from behind victory in the SEC Championship game. That however does not matter to Vegas as they still like the Longhorns more than UGA.

Regardless, there’s no reason to complain about having the third best odds in the country. This tells us that Georgia has a great chance to compete for all of their goals next season, which is all anyone can really ask for at this point in the offseason.
