Gunner Stockton had a phenomenal season for Georgia as he led the Bulldogs to a 12-2 record and SEC Championship. He played so well throughout the year that he was even part of the Heisman Trophy conversation at one point. He however came up just short of being invited to the Heisman ceremony, but that shouldn’t take away from the great season he had.

All eyes are now on Stockton heading into the 2026 season. Now that he has proven himself for a year the expectations for him are sky high heading into his second season as Georgia’s starter. And those expectations are seen in Vegas Oddsmakers 2026 Heisman Trophy odds as Stockton has the fifth best odds at +1200.

Vegas is a big believer in Gunner Stockton

No one knew what to expect from Stockton heading into the 2025 season. Some college football talking heads even thought he would be a really bad quarterback for Georgia. But he turned out to have an excellent season that consisted of him throwing for 24 touchdowns and running for 10 more.

This success is likely why Vegas thinks he has a good chance to win the Heisman next season.

Texas quarterback Arch Manning is the favorite to win the award at +800 along with Notre Dame signal caller CJ Carr. Ohio State’s deadly duo of Jeremiah Smith and Julian Sayin also have better odds than Stockton at +1000 as well. But Stockton isn’t too far behind and is absolutely considered a favorite to win the award at this point.

The best thing about Stockton though is that he probably doesn’t care about this at all. All he wants to do is improve next season and help lead Georgia to a National Championship, and these odds from Vegas shows that they think he has a great chance of accomplishing that.
