Georgia is through their bye week and are closing in on their upcoming matchup with Florida. And with everything still to play for this season, they can’t afford another loss.

The Bulldogs rightfully are predicted to beat the Gators, but Vegas might be trying to send Georgia an interesting message about how difficult it will be for them to win this game.

Vegas favors Georgia by small margin vs Florida

In case anyone didn’t already know, Florida is not a good football team this year. They are a miserable 3-4 and just fired head coach Billy Napier last week. So any rational college football fan would assume Georgia, who is the No. 5 team in the country, would be heavily favored over Florida. Vegas however has other ideas.

The opening spread released by Vegas only favors Georgia by 7.5 points over Florida for this Saturday’s matchups. Most would have assumed UGA would be favored by much more, but Vegas is clearly sending Georgia a curious message about how they think this game will go.

As mentioned, Florida will be without their head coach for the first time this season against Georgia. While many assume this would give Georgia an advantage, this could create some unique challenges for Kirby Smart and UGA as well. Will interim head coach Billy Gonzales keep their game plan similar to how Napier ran things this season? Or will he make drastic changes that Georgia won’t see coming?

If he makes big changes to Florida’s game plan that could keep UGA on their heels at the start of the game while they adjust. And this might be what Vegas expects to happen and why they aren’t favoring Georgia by very many points.

Regardless of what Gonzales and Florida decide to do, Georgia should expect to win this game. And in all honesty, they should expect to win by more than 7.5 points. But at the end of the day all that matters is Georgia emerging victorious so they can keep their SEC Championship hopes alive.
