Viral social media post takes Georgia's dominance over Tennessee to another level

Georgia football's annual beatdown of Tennessee has become one of the best traditions over the last decade for UGA. Year in and year out the Vols think they will finally be able to beat Georgia, but every season Georgia ends up winning usually in convincing fashion.

No Georgia or Tennessee fan needs to be reminded just how one-sided this series has been, but a post on social media went viral Tuesday night that shows just how bad life has been for Tennessee against UGA.

Georgia's dominance over Tennessee just keeps getting better

One of Georgia football's biggest competitors in the SEC over the past decade has been the Tennessee Volunteers. These two sides no longer are guaranteed to play each other every season like they did when the SEC West and East still existed, but so far in the Kirby Smart era they have played every season.

And during the nine years Smart has been Georgia's head coach, the Bulldogs are 8-1 against the Volunteers. This includes a current eight game win streak for Georgia as UGA lost to Tennessee in their first season under Smart in 2016.

Losing eight games in a row to one team is already embarrassing, but the viral social media post above pointed out that Tennessee has actually scored first in each of the last five meetings. It seems statistically impossible for the Vols to end up losing all five of those games, but that is the reality of what's transpired over the last five seasons.

And to make it even worse for Tennessee, all five games were lost by at least 14 points. In fact, Georgia has won each game of their current eight game win streak by at least two touchdowns as well.

Georgia and Tennessee will meet once again during the 2025 season in Knoxville week three. This will be the SEC opener for both teams, so winning the game will be as important as ever. But if history tells college football fans anything, Tennessee will score first before getting absolutely destroyed from that point on.
