Not to much of a surprise to anyone, the Georgia Bulldogs dominated the Bellarmine Knights on Monday night en route to their first victory on the season. Georgia had no trouble putting the ball through the cylinder, as the Dawgs won effortlessly in blowout fashion, 104-59. With Blue Cain and Jeremiah Wilkinson leading the way with 15 points apiece, they both helped Mike White win No. 300.
White secured his 300th career victory as a basketball coach on Monday night. He spent his first four seasons at Louisiana Tech from 2011 to 2015 before taking over at Florida. White spent seven seasons in Gainesville before turning heel and taking over in Athens in 2022. Coming off back-to-back 20-win seasons and UGA's first NCAA Tournament appearance in a decade, he has it humming.
In the postgame celebration, athletic director Josh Brooks tossed White the game ball for No. 300.
"Hey, I've coached some really good players and I've coached some phenomenal people, and I've coached with phenomenal people. So really cool. Way more important to me, though, is for this team to be as good as we can be."
White then followed by saying he would much rather be giving the game ball to a deserving player.
"And he told me in the hallway, I'm giving you the game ball. I said, 'Don't give me the game ball because I'm giving it to that guy right there.'
White then proceeds to toss the ball to Brandon Klatsky, who had five points in two minutes of action.

UGA's next game on the November slate is at home to Maryland Eastern Shore on Wednesday night.
Mike White makes Brandon Klatsky's day celebrating career win No. 300
White may have won a bunch of games at Louisiana Tech and Florida previously, as well as now at Georgia, but up until Monday night Klatsky had never scored a point for Georgia. The junior guard from Colts Neck, New Jersey had appeared in nine games over the two previous seasons in only 14 minutes of action. He was 0-for-4 on his field-goal attempts coming in, with only one career rebound.
Well, on Monday night, he made the most of his minutes. Klatsky made his first career three-pointer for Georgia and made another layup to give him five points on the evening. He also had two steals in a very productive game. To make the most of his 68 seconds of action, albeit in extreme garbage time, suggests he could have his number called even more now as the season progresses. What a night!
In the end, White has been able to achieve his level of success on the hardwood because of the great people around him. Everyone on this team has a role. While Klatsky's role is not as high-profile as Cain's or Wilkinson's, that does not mean it is not important. At his core, White is a teacher. It is the common thread of all the best coaches. Georgia has a long year ahead of it, but is off to a great start.
For now, Georgia must rest and recover before Maryland Eastern Shore comes to town Wednesday.
