Week 1 Result: 24-11 win vs Virginia Tech
South Carolina should be very proud of their week one win as they took down Virginia Tech 24-11. The Gamecocks defense played lights out for most of the game and the South Carolina offense showed flashes of greatness like last season.
But there is something about this South Carolina team that makes it feel like they still have a lot to prove before they are true contenders in the SEC. The Gamecocks most certainly could climb up these rankings over the next few weeks, but for now they have more to prove before jumping into the top half of these power rankings.
