Week 2 Result: 38-10 win vs South Carolina State
South Carolina once again is proving that they are a sneaky good team this season. Sneaky actually may not be the best word for them anymore because the Gamecocks are building off what was a great 2024 season, but it still is a little weird seeing a South Carolina team ranked this high.
The Gamecocks are still yet to prove themselves against legit competition this season, and they unfortunately won't get that chance this week when Vanderbilt comes to town. But this South Carolina team has a chance to be special this year.
The Gamecocks thought they were cheated out of a College Football Playoff berth last season, but if things continue to trend how they are it won't be shocking to see South Carolina redeem themselves and make the CFP this season.
