Is Tennessee the best team in the conference? A 72-17 domination of East Tennessee State suggests they very well might be.
The team in front of them in these power rankings does have the best win in the conference so far this season, so it is going to take something speacial for the Vols to pass them, but Tennessee clearly has a good enough offense to outscore anyone in this league.
It is however a little concerning seeing their defense give up 17 points on Saturday. Tennessee will not be able to hang 70 on anyone in the SEC, so their defense is going to have to be better if they are going to compete for an SEC title this season.
The Vols are going to have their chance to prove they are legit title contenders because they have the defending SEC Champion Georgia Bulldogs coming to town this Saturday for the biggest game of the week.
