Week 2 Result: 18-16 loss vs South Florida
What a rough week it was for the Florida Gators. The Gators were looking like legit contenders in the SEC after week one, but that quickly evaporated after their loss to Group of Five opponent South Florida at home.
Everyone knew this game would be difficult after South Florida blew Boise State out week one, but this should have never been a loss for the Gators. And while Florida's defense really didn't play all that bad, it was Florida's offense who couldn't get anything going. That was especially the case with quarterback DJ Lagway who has not shown any signs of improvement compared to last season.
Florida unfortunately has one of the most difficult stretches of all time beginning this week as they travel to No. 3 LSU. It's hard to imagine Florida leaving with a victory this week, and in all honesty this team very well could miss a bowl game altogether.
