6. Oklahoma Sooners

Week 3 Ranking: 8

Week 3 Result: 42-3 win @ Temple

Oklahoma is continuing to string together impressive performances after their dominant 42-3 win against Oklahoma on the road this weekend. Quarterback John Mateer didn't play as well as he did the week prior against Michigan, but the Sooners relied heavily on their run game as they found the end zone four times on the ground.

Everyone expected the Sooners to increase the strength of the SEC when they joined the conference last year, but they failed to do that during the 2024 season. But this year's team has a chance to contend in the SEC.

If Oklahoma is serious about winning the SEC this season, they need to beat Auburn this weekend. The Tigers are a much improved team, but the Sooners look significantly better so far this season. So Saturday is a must win for Oklahoma or else they'll be on their way to another disappointing season in the SEC.
