9. Mississippi State Bulldogs

Week 3 Ranking: 11

Week 3 Result: 63-0 win vs Alcorn State

The surprise team in the SEC so far this year is Mississippi State, and they kept the good times rolling as they took down Alcorn State 63-0. Many thought the Bulldogs might have a hangover game after their emotional win over Arizona State the week prior, but the opposite actually happened. Mississippi State hadn’t looked better as they more than handled their business.

The Bulldogs have another easy opponent this week in Northern Illinois, but it's hard to not look ahead to what's looming in week five. The Tennessee Volunteers will head to Starkville and will give the Bulldogs a chance to prove they are an actual threat in the SEC. A win in that game and Mississippi State might actually be contenders in the SEC, but a loss will confirm that they still belong in the bottom half of the conference.

That game can't get here soon enough.
