Georgia football is fresh off their big win over Auburn Saturday night. The Bulldogs were the No. 10 team in the country, and after as big of a win as this it is expected that Georgia will move up in the AP Poll. The Bulldogs did see their ranking improve, but unfortunately it was a small move because of the lack of upsets across the college football world on Saturday.
Georgia rises to No. 9 in Week 8 AP Poll
Georgia moved up one spot in the week eight AP Poll to No. 9. The Bulldogs have Oklahoma to thank for this move as their 23-6 loss to Texas sent the Sooners tumbling down this week's rankings.
Ohio State once agian stayed put at No. 1 after another dominant win over a ranked Illinois team. Miami (FL) held steady at No. 2 while Indiana made a big jump to No. 3 after defeating Oregon on the road 30-20. Texas A&M and Ole Miss round out the top five with Alabama not too far behind at No. 6.
Georgia vs. Ole Miss officially a top 10 matchup
Georgia's showdown with Ole Miss this weekend is officially a top 10 matchup. This is the only top 10 matchup taking place this coming weekend which means the college football world will have their eyes on Athens for the game of the week.
Adding to the hype is ESPN's College GameDay who announced they will be in town to host their weekly pregame show in Athens as well. This creates the perfect opportunity for Georgia to earn their biggest win of the season which would see them shoot up the AP Poll rankings next week.
Kickoff between Georgia and Ole Miss is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 18 at 3:30 pm EST.
