Georgia football is coming off a somewhat disappointing season after finishing the regular season at 10-2. They did end up beating Texas for the second time of the season in the SEC Championship game to make something out of the season, but a loss in the quarterfinals of the College Football Playoff made a lot of Georgia fans disappointed with how the season went.
But after factoring in how difficult Georgia's schedule was, maybe UGA fans should be more happy with how the season played out. Texas, Tennessee, Alabama and Ole Miss were the four best teams in the SEC after Georgia, and the Bulldogs had to play them all. Georgia even had to play three of them on the road. So the fact that Georgia's schedule was so tough makes this past season a little better than their final record suggests.
The bad news for Georgia is that next season is not any easier. The SEC took the easy way out and are giving each team the same exact conference schedule just at the opposite location from where it was played in 2024. So Georgia will have to play those same four teams again, but this time they get to play three of them in Athens.
Regardless of that fact, Georgia will once again have one of the most difficult schedules in the country. But which games will be the most difficult for Georgia during the 2025 season?
Which opponents will be the most difficult?
1. Texas
2. Alabama
3. @ Tennessee
4. Ole Miss
5. Florida
6. Georgia Tech
7. @ Auburn
8. Kentucky
9. @Mississippi State
10. Marshall
11. Austin Peay
12. Charlotte
As mentioned, Georgia has a lot of difficult games next season, but they are very fortunate that many of them aren't on the road. In fact, five of their six most difficult games will not be on the road, with the only road game out of the bunch at Tennessee. Florida and Georgia Tech are also listed in the top half, but those games are at neutral sites which will benefit the Bulldogs.
It will be interesting to see how Kirby Smart and Georgia do with this difficult schedule once again. They were fortunate to make the SEC Championship game last season with a 6-2 record, and unfortunately 6-2 is possible once again with this schedule. But if the Bulldogs can find a way to go 7-1 in SEC play, then they will get a chance to defend their SEC crown in Atlanta next season.
