There are a lot of talented freshman joining Georgia's program this year. Until the fall rolls around most fans won't know too much about them, but there is one name that fans need to start learning now.
Kaiden Prothro is a five-star tight end who projects to make an immediate impact this fall. He has a unique skillset that allows him to look like a tight end and wide receiver depending on the play called, and it was those abilities that helped him win Player of the Year in Georgia as a senior.
Kirby Smart already knew what player he would be getting, but this spring he has already found a way to impress his new head coach.
"He's a talented pass catcher," Smart said via 247sports.com. "He's a large target. He has some twitchiness and quickness to get away from press and get off of press, and we're gonna keep trying to figure out what it is all those guys do best, and where they are in their progression. And I'm just proud of their attitude and their work ethic right now."
Georgia fans will learn to love Kaiden Prothro
Georgia hasn’t had a truly dynamic tight end since Brock Bowers. To be fair that really wasn’t that long ago, but Georgia’s offense has looked very different since he left for the NFL.
That is why adding someone like Prothro to the program is a really big deal. He can beat defenses in so many different ways and has the ability to beat any defender playing any position one-on-one.
Georgia fans still have to wait a few months before they can see Prothro take the field for the first time, but he is someone they should read up on because he’s going to be making a lot of big plays for years to come.
