The No. 1 overall recruit in the 247Sports Composite Rankings, 5-star defensive tackle Trent Thompson (Albany, Ga./Westover), has let everyone know who his top 5 schools are, and Georgia still tops the list, according to Dawgs247′s Jake Rowe.

Alabama has crept into the no. 3 spot on Thompson’s list (which also includes Auburn, Florida State and Clemson) after being thought of as out of his top schools.

As Thompson makes more visits, that list is certainly going to see some changes and shuffling, but as of right now the Bulldogs have a firm hold on the top spot on his list.

Thompson has had multiple visits to all the schools on his list except Clemson, who he has only visited once, and will be in Athens this Friday and Saturday when the Bulldogs host a 7-on-7 tournament.

The 6-foot-4, 292 pound Thompson is probably in no hurry to give an early commitment or to become one of those elite players who flips several times. He is likely to continue his recruitment right up until National Signing Day.

Dawg fans can breath easy knowing he’s never wavered in his feelings about Georgia, but the movement of Alabama into his list is something that can always become concerning.
