The two biggest remaining fish in the pond for whom Georgia basketball is fishing are Doral Moore and Jaylen Brown.

Recruiting Update:

Locust Grove center Doral Moore remains a long shot for the Bulldogs. The bad news, and it’s very bad, is that Moore has named his five finalist schools and Georgia is not among them. The good news, and it’s very good, is that Florida and Kentucky have not offered. As long as Big Blue or the Gators do not offer, Georgia has a chance.

Marietta shooting forward Jaylen Brown had a breakout performance as part of team USA at the Adidas Eurocamp and sports offers from UCLA, Louisville, Kansas, Arizona to name a few. Reports of a UK offer are conflicting. Dawn of the Dawg will stand by its assertion that there is a 60% chance Brown could be a Bulldog.

Post man Daniel Giddens of Marietta will announce his choice of schools on July 4th, his birthday. If he does not announce a commitment to Ohio State, it will be a shock.

Shooting guard Malik Beasley from Alpharetta and shooting forward Tevin Mack from Columbia, SC, are both believed to be on a path to Athens. However, Beasley has suddenly caught everyone’s eye.

Beasley rose 77 spots in the Rivals prospect ranking to number 60 and now sports four Rivals stars. Beasely performed like a four star recruit at the recent NBAPA Top 100 Camp in Charlottesville, VA, and was named to the All-Camp Team. To go with his new-found reputation, Beasley also has a recent offer from Maryland. Beasley has visited the Georgia campus three times and is still a likely Dawg, but the prospects for Georgia become dicey as Beasely attracts attention from top programs.

Regarding Tevin Mack, for Georgia, no news has been good news. Dawn of the Dawg believes Mack is still likely a Bulldog.

Program Whispers:

Implementation details are being hammered out to allow empty lower bowl Stegeman Coliseum seats to be filled after tip off. Also, the scaffolding surrounding the Coliseum, for some a metaphor for Georgia basketball, should be removed before fall classes.
