Deep South. SEC. Football. Ra-Ra in your face!

Currently, the series stands at 55-55-8. That statistics measure saying the more times you roll a dice the odds will move closer to 50% to get either heads or tails is coming true on the gridiron.

This game is definitely not the biggest one in the series, but it perhaps could be one of the most important.

For Georgia, this game could determine the job status of many on the coaching staff. For Auburn, it could tell the direction of the program for the next few years.

The Dawgs have all of the talent, now what do they need to do to get a win against the Tigers?

  1. Run, run, run the ball

Sony Michel was once a four-star prospect. He finally had a breakout game on the ground as the premier runner in the offense accounting for 165 yards rushing on 24 carries. Keith Marshall signed with the Dawgs as a five-star recruit. His stiff-arm in last weekend’s contest broke twitter. Both backs are capable of carrying this offense. Georgia needs to receive a healthy dose of both Michel and Marshall, with a sprinkle of Terry Godwin and Brendan Douglas. The offense needs to start on the ground and continue throughout the game

  1. Keep doing what you are doing defense

The Georgia defense may be better than it was in 2012 when they featured the likes of Jarvis Jones, Alec Ogletree, and Bacarri Rambo. In two of the last three games they have given up a combined nine points. Even in the game against Florida, much of the Gators’ scoring came as a result of turnovers by the Georgia and good field position. With Auburn’s offense in a state much like Georgia’s, the Dawgs’ defense needs to continue to fly around and make plays. Stopping the read-option will be key in this matchup.

  1. Quarterbacks, just give us one

Whoever lines up behind center on Saturday for the Dawgs, all the team is asking for one score. If the Georgia quarterbacks can produce one touchdown passing, then that will be icing on the cake considering the running game should continue to play well enough. For the Dawgs to win they do not need their quarterbacks to play their best game of the season, and that is a great notion. Drive the ball down the field and take care of the football, and Georgia will be in business.
