Anyone with any knowledge of sports knows that starting this week, Augusta, Georgia transforms into the single most important sports city on Earth. That’s right……it Masters week. And whether you’re a golf fan or not, the Dawg in you probably wants to see a former UGA golfer win the biggest golf tournament in the world. So let’s take a look at a few Dawgs at the Masters with the best chance to win it…….and who we should be cheering for.
4. Hudson Swafford . The only rookie in the field that played at Georgia. He’s played some good golf . He even had a win at the Careerbuilder Classic back in January. You have to think that the jitters may get to this kid though. This will be his first time at the Masters and it may be a little too much too soon. Keep an eye on him in the future though.
3. Russell Henley . Another Dawg who has won in 2017. He won last week in fact. His win at the Shell Houston Open He had a Sunday that included 10 birdies. He definitely seems to be peaking at the right time. Which probably makes you question a little why I have him and another tour winner from this season number 3 and 4 on my list of likely winners. But there are a couple of guys I think have a better chance of winning this week.
2. Kevin Kisner. This former Dawg has been pretty consistent over the past couple of years. He’s been especially consistent this season with 3 top 10 finishes. He will be a dark horse who could legitimately compete with the likes of Rory Mcilroy and Dustin Johnson at Augusta.

1. Bubba Watson. How could old Bubba not be number 1 on this list? Even though he’s not exactly been on fire as of late, he’s experienced and proven at Augusta National. As a 2 time winner, he must be considered a legitimate contender by even people who aren’t Dawg fans. He’s made some shots at the Masters that only he could make. So don’t be surprised if he’s battling for the lead on Sunday with a chance at winning his third green jacket.
