One of the biggest stories throughout Georgia football's 2024 season was all of the injuries they suffered. A majority of the injuries came on the offensive side of the ball specifically on the offensive line and in the running back room, but these injuries had a significant impact on the Bulldogs' season.
These injuries unfortunately are continuing throughout the offseason as Graham Coffey with Dawgs Central confirmed two big name players on Georgia's defense who both just had surgeries.
Breaking News: UGA CB Daylen Everette and DL Christen Miller Undergo Offseason Surgeries
— Graham Coffey (@GrahamCoffeyDC) February 21, 2025
DawgsCentral has learned Everette underwent surgery for a sports hernia shortly after Georgia’s season ended
Miller had surgery to repair a damaged shoulder labrum
CB Daylen Everette
The first Bulldog who recently underwent surgery is corner Daylen Everette. According to Coffey, Everette had surgery for a sports hernia right after Georgia's season came to an end.
As of now it is unclear what capacity Everette will be able to participate during spring practice. There is a chance he will be able to participate in a limited capacity, but he might miss spring practice altogether as well. However, he is expected to be 100 percent healthy long before the 2025 season starts so there is no fear of him missing time during the regular season.
DL Christen Miller
Defensive lineman Chirsten Miller is the second player who was announced on Friday to have undergone a recent surgery. Miller had a damaged labrum in his shoulder that has since been repaired with surgery.
It is more than likely that Miller will miss all of spring practice later this offseason, but similarly to Everette he is expected to make a full recovery before the season as well. The fact that both players will be back long before the season begins is huge because both players will be key contributors if not starters on the Bulldogs' defense this season. So missing either player would have been a huge blow, but if they only miss time during the spring then that is probably the best case scenario.
