Rivals released an update to their 2026 recruiting rankings on Monday, and this update impacted Georgia football in multiple ways. However, arguably the best thing of all for UGA is that out of all the recruits in the country, two of Georgia’s commits saw their rankings improve the most from this update.

2 Georgia commits shoot up the Rivals recruiting rankings

Two of the top recruits currently committed to Georgia’s 2026 recruiting class are offensive tackle Ekene Ogboko and wide receiver Craig Dandridge. Both players were already ranked pretty high before Monday, but Rivals significantly increased the ranking for both UGA commits on Monday.

Ogboko saw his ranking go from No. 106 to No. 59, which is quite a large jump for someone who was already just outside the top 100. However, the biggest jump by far for Georgia came from Dandridge who moved from No. 238 all the way up to No. 76.

This jump for these two players wasn’t the only significant news for Georgia that came from this Rivals update. On top of these increases, Georgia commits James Johnson and Justice Fitzpatrick both moved inside the top 32 which gives them their coveted fifth star.

But the greatest update of all was seen when you combine all of these updates together. After factoring in the rankings updates for each player in the country, Georgia officially has the No. 1 recruiting class in the country. This is a title that USC held for a few months, but the Bulldogs officially took over the top spot on Monday.

While all of these updates are worth celebrating, what matters most is where Georgia and their commits finish at the end of the recruiting cycle. So Kirby Smart and his staff have a lot more work to do if they wish to retain the No. 1 recruiting class for the rest of the year.
