The good news just keeps on rolling in for Georgia football. The Bulldogs earned three transfer portal commitments on Tuesday, which included a star wide receiver from the SEC. On top of that, Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs learned that two impact players on offense will also be returning to Georgia next fall instead of heading to the pros.
And it goes without saying that these two players returning is a big deal.
Running Back Trevor Etienne
The first player to announce their return is running back Trevor Etienne.
News really doesnโt get much better than this as Etienne was Georgiaโs best running back this season. Etienne finished his first year with Georgia with 122 carries for 609 yards and a career high nine touchdowns. Etienne has this amazing season while dealing with a significant injury that kept him off the field for 4 games. So just imagine how much better his season would have been had he stayed healthy all season.
Etienne joins Nate Frazier in the backfield who had himself a remarkable freshman season. This duo has a chance to be one of the top running back duos in the country next season, which is an extremely exciting thing after the struggles the offense faced this season.
Wide Receiver Dillon Bell
Sticking with the offense, wide receiver Dillon Bell was the second player to announce his return to Georgia on Tuesday.
Bell was another solid player for Georgia this season who recorded career highs in receptions, yards and touchdowns with 43 catches for 466 yards and four receiving touchdowns. Bell even helped out in the run game when the running back room was so injured and scored a touchdown on the ground as well.
Everyone knows Georgiaโs wide receiver room struggled this season, but next year the receivers will be a strength. Joining Bell are transfers Zachariah Branch and Noah Thomas, who are both ranked inside the top 10 wide receivers in the portal.
Those three guys will be an elite trio that when paired with the great running back duo already mentioned will give UGA many weapons capable of destroying teams.
