Monday has turned into quite the bad day for Georgia football when it comes to news on the injury front. Everyone knows how bad the injuries were for Georgia this past season, especially at running back and on the offensive line, and unfortunately those injuries are not slowing down.

Earlier on Monday, it was confirmed that projected starting left tackle Monroe Freeling has had surgery on his shoulder and will be limited during spring practice. But that isn’t the only surgery that was announced on Monday as Rivals confirmed two other Bulldogs who had recent had surgeries as well.

Two more Bulldogs undergo surgeries

The next Bulldog that’s been confirmed to have undergone a recent surgery is outside linebacker Gabe Harris. It’s unclear exactly what he had surgery on, but Harris did recently post on his social media a picture of him in an arm sling.

Harris played in all 14 games this past season for Georgia and recorded 14 tackles which included an impressive two sacks and two forced fumbles. Hopefully Harris can get healthy fast because he has a chance to be a huge piece on Georgia’s defense next season.

The final player Rivals confirmed on Monday who has had a recent surgery is tight end Colton Heinrich. There is nothing known at this time what this surgery was on, but Rivals did confirm that Heinrich underwent an unspecified injury.

Heinrich appeared in four games this past season as a true freshman, but he did not record any stats. So he will enter the 2025 season as a redshirt freshman with four years of eligibility remaining which means he has plenty of time to grow as a player and carve out a role on this team.

It’s unlikely that Heinrich will make much of an impact on the field during the 2025 season, but hopefully he is able to recover from this surgery soon so he can continue to work on his development towards the future.
