Georgia football's showdown with Tennessee this weekend is as big as it gets. Normally the first SEC game of the season doesn't have as much magnitude as this one, but the Bulldogs and Volunteers look like two of the best teams in the conference who could win the SEC this season.

While there are plenty of concerns for Georgia on the field when they take on Tennessee, there are two things happening off the field as well that don't look good for UGA either.

Georgia vs Tennessee sees abnormal spread change

Vegas released their opening spread for this game on Sunday, and they named Georgia a touchdown favorite over Tennessee. The public however very much disagreed with this line as they immediately began betting on Tennessee to cover this spread. The Volunteers were getting so much action that the spread dropped all the way down to 3.5 points in favor of Georgia.

The spread has since moved up to 4.5 points where it currently sits on FanDuel Sportsbook on Thursday morning, but a spread changing this fast almost never happens. This shows that the college football world is heavily leaning towards Tennessee to not just cover the spread, but in most cases they believe the Volunteers will win this game outright.

ESPN favors Tennessee over Georgia

While Vegas is holding ture that Geogia is the favorite, the same can't be said for ESPN. Their matchup predictor actually favors Tennessee by currently giving them a 51.5 percent chance to win.

This may not seem like a big deal, but ESPN actually predicted Ole Miss to beat Georgia last season when no one thought UGA would lose that game, but everyone remembers how dominant the Rebels were that night.

At the end of the day these predictions and trends don't mean that much. No one can deny how close these two teams appear to be, so this game more than likely will come down to the final moments. But if history carries any weight in this game, Georgia fans should expect to see the Bulldogs leave Knoxville with their ninth victory in a row against Tennessee.
