No. 5 – Hutson Mason can lead this team as far as they need to go

Hutson Mason isn’t going to be confused with Aaron Murray, David Greene or Matthew Stafford anytime soon. But, the steady arm and calm demeanor that Mason brings may be all Georgia needs from him at this point.

He makes good, clean accurate throws, and sometimes into tight spaces. He’s not flashy, and he hasn’t demonstrated any ability to really test an opponent’s secondary deep down the field, but then again he hasn’t had his top receivers either.

Regardless, if wide receivers Malcolm Mitchell and Justin Scott-Wesley never make it back into the lineup this year (which is unlikely), Mason can get the job done, and won’t do anything to lose game for the Bulldogs.

You hate to apply the “game manager” label, but after five career starts, that has been his calling card thus far.
