The Georgia recruiting wins just keep on coming even when the football team has a bad week.

The Georgia football class of 2015 just got yet another big lift with the commitment of 4-star safety Rashad Roundtree (Evans, Ga.,Lakeside HS), per a report from Dawgs247.com (subscription needed)

Roundtree was being courted primarily by Georgia defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt, and will fill out a need that the Bulldogs have in their thin secondary.

The 6-foot-1, 195-pound defensive back is rated the nation’s No. 94 overall prospect and No. 11 player in the state of Georgia, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.

Roundtree tweeted the good news to Dawg fans early Friday morning.

The Evans, Ga. product chose Georgia over offers from Ohio State, Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Florida State and others.

Georgia will undoubtedly continue recruiting players for the secondary, but the addition of Roundtree gives Mark Richt and his coaching staff a much needed big time safety prospect.

The commitment by Roundtree gives the Bulldogs 24 total recruits for the 2015 class, which is already ranked third in the nation and second in the SEC by 247 Sports. Those rankings probably won’t go up with this single commit, but will keep the Dawgs right at the top of the list.
