No. 1 – Roquan Smith, Outside Linebacker

Smith is a 4-star linebacker out of Montezuma, Ga. (Macon Co. H.S.), and is another one of Georgia’s in-state priorities.

Rated as the No. 7 player in the state, and the No. 5 outside linebacker in the nation by 247 Sports, Smith possesses speed, the ability to place in space well, and great reaction and lateral movement. He’s been excellent in pass coverage, and hits big for his 6’2, 205-pound frame.

He has offers from 26 schools, but really only has two on his list of finalists.

Likelihood of Commitment to Georgia – Smith is the No. 1 target remaining for Mark Richt and hist staff, and they’ll have to really keep working to keep him from going to Michigan. Right now, the arrow is pointing Georgia’s way, but nothing is set. Most feel this kid is Georgia’s to lose, and with Pruitt and Lilly handling his recruitment, that doesn’t seem likely.
