Georgia’s 2015 recruiting class lost one of it’s prized commits today when 6-foot-2 wide receiver Van Jefferson, the son of former NFL standout Shawn Jefferson, decided to de-commit from the Dawgs and reopen his recruiting.
Jefferson had committed to Georgia in August, but now has become more intrigued by Ole Miss, who has also offered the Bretwood, Tn. product.
The 4-star receiver, rated as the No. 3 overall player from the state of Tennessee and No. 11 wide receiver in the nation according to 247 Sports composite rankings, sent the news of his de-commitment in a tweet.
Jefferson will be the second offensive recruit who has de-committed since the departure of former offensive coordinator Mike Bobo and offensive line coach Will Friend.
Oklahoma, Ohio State and Florida are also schools that Jefferson is considering. This may be yet another target that the Bulldogs will be forced to wait until National Signing Day before they know whether they could lure him back or not.
