National Signing Day is a little over a week away, coming up on Feb. 4, and while Georgia has their eye on a number of commits and targets, there are some early enrollees who are ready to go.

More from Georgia Football Recruiting

All the drama and stress of National Signing Day is felt from coaches and fans alike. But Georgia’s bumper-crop of commits for 2015 aren’t all teetering or even a concern, because they’ve already enrolled and are set to go for the next term.

Early enrollees make the coaches lives much easier, as not only do they not have to worry about them on NSD, but once enrolled and registered for classes, they can be eligible to participate in spring practices along with the Bulldog veterans.

Of Georgia’s 26 to-date commits for 2015, seven of them have already enrolled. Not a bad ratio at all. Six out of the seven early enrollees are on the defensive side of the ball, so coach Jeremy Pruitt will really be able to get a good look at some of his top recruits.

All of these recruits will have the earliest opportunity to impress coaches and start competing for spots on the 2-deep roster. Having this many new defensive recruits in the spring should make for some interesting position battles.

Abram and Wilson in particular will be welcome additions to a secondary that was absolutely picked clean to the bone last season due to dismissals, transfers and injuries. For them to get an early start and begin working with Pruitt’s staff will be important for the defensive unit.
