Linebacker Roquan Smith was a recruit the Georgia Bulldogs didn’t want to see slip away, and Rico McGraw was one that almost did.

Rated as the No. 5 player in the state of Georgia, and the No. 5 outside linebacker in the nation, Roquan Smith is a 4-star prospect who will become an immediate impact player. DB Rico McGraw had committed to Georgia, then flipped to Alabama, and then today, signed his letter of intent to play in Athens.

Smith’s recruitment was wide open even up until today, with Georgia, UCLA, Michigan and Texas A&M all being in the mix to land Smith. Both Kevin Sumlin and Jim Harbaugh made late pushes to try and sway Smith their way.

UCLA had some great momentum this morning, and that may have been what pulled him the Bruins’ way.

McGraw will be a huge addition to a secondary that needs a lot of help, and should be able work his way into the lineup early on.

The Dawgs also just signed Miami, Fl. cornerback DeAndre Baker to add to their haul.
