Dawg Night is the biggest recruiting event in Athens. There will be plenty of drama as recruits compete, perform, and – most significantly – talk.

Dawg Night Drama is building as Georgia’s biggest recruiting day of the 2016 recruiting cycle nears. Three story story lines will jerk the Bulldog Nation up, down and all around.
Down
Ben Davis (6’3″ 240, Gordo, AL), a 247sports.com four star linebacker, cancelled his Dawg Night plans, telling Michael Carvell of the AJC.com, “No sir, I’m not going. I have some stuff do with my family. I’m going to try to get back later. I already told them (the Georgia coaches) that I wouldn’t be able to make it this week.”
Davis’ father is Wayne Davis, the all-time Alabama tackler, and this news is a downer for the Dawg faithful.
But Davis told Carvell, “I know I’m going to take an official visit to Georgia. It’s because I have so much family there in Georgia. I’ve got uncles, aunts and cousins in Atlanta. Also, when I visited Georgia’s campus last spring, I really liked it. So I’m taking an official there.”
Davis is wide open, but pulling an Alabama legacy out of Alabama is a tough chore and losing Davis’ Dawg Night attendance will make it even tougher.

UP
Not only is Jacob Eason (6’5″, 205, Lake Stevens WA) attending and working out at Dawg Night, he hints he is staying in the area to visit with fellow recruits.
“After Dawg Night, we’ve left the rest of the trip up in the air,” Jacob’s father, Tony Eason, told the Michael Carvell of the AJC.com.
“We’re going go to see where it goes. We may visit some guys and see some areas of Georgia. We’re not sure yet. I’m kind of leaving that up for grabs.”
“We are going to see where it goes on Dawg Night, and we may go visit a couple of dudes. We’re kind of leaving that open.”
Eason committed to the Dawgs one year ago and has been recruiting ever since. Eason face time with Georgia recruiting targets could garner some Dawg commitments before school starts.
All Around
Jeff Sentell of the AJC.com confirms that Charlie Woerner (6’ 5”, 220 Tiger, GA), the nephew of former Georgia All-American Scott Woerner is making the trip down from Rabun County for Dawg Night.
The sigfnificance of Woener’s attendance is huge – Woerner has taken no other visits this summer other than his trip to Athens for the Mark Richt 7 on 7 Camp. Woerner’s leaders are believed to be Alabama, Clemson, Georgia and Oregon.
Charlie Woerner will be his own man, but the recruitment of Scott Woerner’s nephew will pull on more than a few Bulldog heart-strings.
