In a story posted Thursday by Dawn of the Dawg, wide receiver commit Davion Curtis was portrayed as someone to keep an eye on considering he is from the state of Texas and was receiving a great deal of attention from multiple Big 12 schools.
Top target Grant Holloway from Virginia was another receiver the Dawgs felt they had a good shot at signing. Although he had not committed to UGA yet, he was strongly considering playing in Athens.

According to two separate stories by Jeff Sentell from DawgNation, Curtis decided Thursday to de-commit from UGA and commit to in-state Texas. Also, Holloway chose to run track at Florida and not play both sports for the Bulldogs.
In one day Georgia lost a pair of three-star players, including a possible future special teams returner in Holloway. The narrative that the team needs to bolster their receiving core has become even more evident now.
One question to ask with news like this is where does the coaching staff go from here with recruiting?

Fans in any program are always interested to see how coaches react when recruits that they have put so much time and energy into building a relationship with flip to another school or just simply decide against their school. The decisions by Curtis and Holloway to choose against Georgia should fuel the Bulldog coaches to go out and get even better high-caliber receiver talent.
It may be considered just a bad day at the office, but there is still hope. With 16 commitments, including four from wide receivers, Georgia still has the potential of getting the type of talent they want. Should the Dawgs nail down a commitment from five-star receiver Kyle Davis (Lawrenceville, Georgia/Archer High School) then this news will seem less important.
The key here is to not dwell on the losses and look forward to future wins. That is what any coach would tell his team, and that should be what Richt is telling his coaching staff.
