The Georgia offense has been on a roll lately, and that did not change when Clemson made the short trek down I-85 Tuesday night for a showdown in Athens.

The welcome for the Tigers was not gracious as the Bulldogs defeated the men in purple 71-48. Seniors Charles Mann and Kenny Gaines led the charge for the high-powered offense totaling 18 and 17 points respectively, the only Bulldogs to hit the double-digit mark.

Early in the first half, Gaines hit a three-pointer and became the 46th player in school history to record 1,000 career points. This highlighted what was a complete game put in by the home team.

After scoring 35 points on Saturday against Georgia Tech, J.J. Frazier took a backseat to Mann and Gaines. He added only nine points, but he also contributed five rebounds and four assists. Yante Maten had a perfect shooting night going 3-of-3 from the field and 2-of-2 from the foul line for eight points.

With the offense continuing their stellar play, the Georgia defense decided to get in on the act. The Tigers 48 points was the first time the team had been held under 50 in Athens since the 1950-1951 season. It was also their lowest point total of this season as they shot a dismal 27.1 percent from the field.

The Bulldogs will take a week off from competition before hosting Robert Morris on December 29th in their final game before 2016 and the start of SEC play.
