One of the best players in Georgia who remains uncommitted is expected to announce his decision the day after G-day.

Brenton Cox is a bad man. The 6-5 250lb defensive end prospect is one of the most violent defensive linemen in the 2018 class. He announced this week to Jeff Sentell that he is going to make his commitment to either UGA of Ohio State this Sunday.

Cox was at the Buckeyes spring game last weekend and will be at G-day this week. He is determined that he has not currently made his decision. A lot of experts think that he is going to Ohio State seeing as his announcement came so soon after his visit. However UGA still seems to be in with a shot.

Securing Cox’s commitment would be huge for Kirby Smart and he 2018 class. For now, they are currently in a bit of a lull, with only 2 commitments and several of their top targets not deciding until at least this summer. If Cox were to decide to commit to UGA, he would be their top ranked prospect so far and the highest ranked recruit from Georgia to stay home this year.

Can UGA win this one?

In a word, Yes. UGA has been Cox’s dream school since he was young and hes from a family of Bulldog fans. Of course, Urban Meyer is an ace recruiter and Ohio State is a serious threat to take Cox out of state. Kirby can recruit, we know that and keeping Cox in state will be a huge win over one of the nations top programs.

Cox is a violent pass rusher who will likely dominate wherever he plays. Kirby Smart loves these kinds of players. He no doubt he believes he can get the most out of Cox at the next level. Fans will have an opportunity to show Cox just how much he is wanted at UGA this upcoming Saturday when he attends G-Day.

Hopefully a full stadium of dawg fans and an awesome spring game will show Cox why he should stay home. Smart will hope that the atmosphere and the competition on the field will inspire him to stay home.
