Another huge week for the Georgia Baseball team as they continue to close out the season strong.

Is the Georgia Bulldogs baseball team getting hot at the right time? After taking out #4 Kentucky last week, Georgia went 3-1 this week. The 3 wins included completing the season sweep over Georgia Tech, 9-8, in SunTrust Park and beating #6 Mississippi State 2 out of 3.

Game 1

This game was ugly as Mississippi State blasted Georgia 9-3. When I saw this score, I was like, “oh no here we go again”.

Konner Pilkington pitched very well as he pitched 8 shutout innings for MSU. Brent Rooker and Elijah MacNamee  both hit bombs in game 1 to lift Mississippi State past Georgia.

Andrew Gist took the loss for the Dawgs as he threw 5.1 innings, gave up 5 runs on 8 hits, and struck out 5. Keegan McGovern went 2-3 at the plate.

Game 2

Georgia would even the series with a 4-1 win as Kevin Smith was dominant on the mound.

Denver McQuary got the loss for Mississippi State on the mound. He threw 4 innings, gave up 3 runs, and walked 5 batters. Ryan Gridley was 1-3 with an RBI.

Kevin Smith was on a roll. He threw 7 shutout innings, giving up only 3 hits, and struck out 6. LJ Talley went 1-2 with 2 walks and a run scored.

Game 3

Georgia also won this one 4-1. It was another big pitching performance from the starter, this time it was Chase Adkins.

Jacob Billingsley got the loss after facing only 4 batters and giving up 2 runs. Hunter Vonsau went 3-4 at the plate for Mississippi State.

Chase Adkins was magnificent on the mound for UGA. He threw 6 shutout innings, gave up 5 hits, and struck out 2. Michael Curry went 1-3 with a 2 run homerun.
