Georgia football: Top 3 quarterbacks the Bulldogs will face this season
By Mike Stowe
2. Jake Bentley
South Carolina’s sophomore quarterback had moments of brilliance last season after he took over for Brandon Mcillwain. Late season conference wins over Tennessee and Missouri showed he is ready to compete in the SEC.
His 390 yard 3 touchdown performance in the Birmingham Bowl against South Florida showed he can also get it done against non-conference opponents as well. South Carolina still lost this one 46-39 in overtime and lost to Clemson in the last game of the regular season.
Bentley will need more consistent help from the Gamecock defense if they are to compete in the East. While I don’t see them doing that in Muschamp’s second year at head coach, the game between South Carolina and Georgia in Athens on November 4 should showcase the 2 best quarterbacks in the East when Jacob Eason and Jake Bentley face off. It will be a fun one to watch.
