Georgia Football will play at least as many night games as they did in 2016. They are slated for evening kickoff times in weeks one, two, and three.

Most Dawg fans have become accustomed to only waiting until noon or 3:30 to watch Georgia Football take the field on fall Saturdays. Every now and then a night game is thrown our way, and no one really knows what to do, having to wait all day before getting to see the Dawgs play.

Things are going to be a little different this year, as UGA’s first three games of 2017 will all be played at night. Georgia will match their total number of night games from all of 2016 in the first three weeks of the 2017 season.

The first three games for the upcoming season are scheduled as follows:

Week One: Georgia vs. Appalachian St.

September 2, 2017

6:15 pm

Sanford Stadium, Athens, GA

ESPN

Week Two: Georgia @ Notre Dame

September 9, 2017

7:30 pm

Notre Dame Stadium, South Bend, IND

NBC

Week Three: Georgia vs. Samford

September 16, 2017

7:30 pm

Sanford Stadium, Athens, GA

SEC Network Alternate

Its really exciting to see UGA start the season off with these 3 games. One fo the big complaint from many dawg fans in 2016 was that too many games were at noon. If Georgia can get off to a fast start, there could well be more late night games. Schedulers would love to have a UGA side pushing for the SEC East on late on Saturday nights.

Next: UGA has a new return guy for 2017.

That’s the kind of attention top programs get and it helps showcase them to the nation. Fingers crossed that’s exactly what happens!
