Terry Godwin.

Godwin had a somewhat disappointing 2016. He looked impressive during his freshman year in 2015, but never really developed a rapport with Jacob Eason. He also suffered from the fact that he was often forced out wide for most of his offensive snaps. That was because Isaiah McKenzie was so good, he more often than not playing in the slot every snap.

Godwin is more of a natural there. That is where he did most of the damage in his freshman campaign. With McKenzie gone, it will once again become the position that Godwin will hold down. While he will still play out wide on some snaps, he will spend most of his time back where he is most comfortable.

The stories out of camp suggest that he has been getting into a very good rhythm with Jacob Eason and that’s a big start. Kirby Smart has said several times that he’s a player who is stepping up in terms of leadership and his performance needs to follow along. While there are a lot of weapons, this Georgia team needs Godwin to become the player many thought he would coming out of high school. He’s one of the most important players for UGA in 2017.
