OG Jamaree Salyer.

Salyer is one of the top 2 players UGA is pushing to sign this class. He and Justin Fields are priority 1A and 1B. He’s the best guard prospect in a very long time and he is likely going to start wherever he ends up on day 1 and make the OL better. Considering the interior struggles we saw in the game, he’s a guy Georgia needs to land.

Salyer is best friends with Andrew Thomas and was there to watch his friend start his first ever game at right tackle. The progress Thomas has made is a big deal. It shows Salyer that Sam Pittman is a coach who backs up his talk. Thomas and Salyer were likely both told the same thing. Come to UGA and we’ll coach you up so that you have a shot to start right away. Thomas is the proof that Pittman’s promise rings true.

Thomas actually played pretty well. He made a few mental errors but he was by no means the weak link on the offensive line. He has improved compared to his film from high school and he seems to be playing with even better technique and power. Everyone in football knows that Pittman can coach offensive linemen. It’s particularly useful for UGA to have such a personal example of this to help with Salyer however.
