DL Tramel Walthour.

Walthour is a prospect quite a few people think will commit to UGA this season. On several message boards, he’s a guy that people seem to have circled as the next player to commit. I don’t think he’d that close to pulling the trigger quite yet, but I do believe that he is a UGA lean.

Walthour would fit in well with what UGA is trying to build on the defensive line right now. He looks like he can come in and play defensive end but he has the frame to put on a bit more weight and possibly play DT as well. I think he’s likely going to be a DE who could end up rushing from the DT spot in certain sets.

Getting Walthour into Athens for the first game of the season was a big win. He might only be a 3 star prospect but as they often say, the offers don’t lie. You don’t get offers from Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, and Florida if you aren’t going to be able to make an impact on Saturdays. He’s not somebody who camps very much and so his ranking is what he is, but he is someone who would solidify Georgia’s DL in 2018.

I don’t have any prediction on when Walthour will commit, but him being there was a good sign for me. It would be great for DL coach Tray Scott if he was able to make Walthour his first commit since he took the job in February.
