While it was a pretty easy game, there are still plenty of takeaways from this game. With a big game coming next week, let’s see how the Dawgs did this week and how they go into the next one.
Chubb rounding into form.
With Sony Michel sitting out with an ankle injury, Nick Chubb had a few more carries this week. The offense lent on him pretty heavily early which was nice to see. He ran for 131 yards on 16 carries as well as 2 touchdowns.
He pretty much sat out the entire second half having done all that he needed to do. Nick looked really impressive this past week. He made lots of players miss and was running with the power that we’re all used to seeing. In short, Chubb looked like Chubb again and it was great to see Georgia actually play to his strengths again.
His first touchdown was classic Chubb. After being pushed to the outside of the offensive line, he saw a gap and quickly cut through it and ran over an ankle tackle. He then glided 30 yards and found the end zone. The whole run looked incredibly easy.
It was good to see Chubb have the chance to play like this. Credit should also be given to the offensive line who improved after a bad first series. Georgia is going to need to see some more of these plays next week.
