X-Factors

For this, I’m going with both on the defensive side of the ball.

Mississippi State’s defensive line is no doubt the key to victory. They can really expose a weak UGA offensive line. Jeffery Simmons is a man amongst boys and could bring the energy the rest of that line needs. If they can have their way in the trenches, Mississippi State will win.

For Georgia, it’s the linebacker corps. This is my favorite unit on the team. Roquan Smith is one of the most explosive middle linebackers in the nation,  along with Davin Bellamy and Lorenzo Carter, who both have been playing with something to prove. This unit was a big reason Notre Dame averaged less than 2 yards per carry against UGA. Fitzgerald and Williams will bring a similar threat to this stingy Georgia defense.

Who wins?

Next: Why this game is a 'must win' for UGA.

This is going to be a slugfest. Two very physical teams going at it. I think whoever wins in the trenches will win this game. I think Georgia is more talented, but Dan Mullen is a very good coach. After a 4 quarter battle, Georgia 27 – MSU 20.
