Georgia football is coming off a huge win over Mississippi State in which the Bulldogs played their best game of the Kirby Smart era

Admittedly, it was very hard to come up with any player or coach to put on this list. So far this season, this list has been easy to fill. But after a dominant 31-3 victory where everyone played outstanding, it was hard to think of anyone who needs to play better this Saturday against Tennessee.

That’s why the individuals that need to step up this week are the entire team. This was a huge win that Georgia came out looking like a vastly superior team. But Mississippi State was coming off a similar win over LSU and look what happened.

More from Dawn of the Dawg

Coaches and players all need to stay focused on the goal of this week, and that’s beating Tennessee. After four games in 2017, it’s obvious that Georgia is better than Tennessee. The Volunteers are just six points away from being a 1-3 team with losses to Georgia Tech and Massachusetts.

They are just a mess, plain and simple. Their best player doesn’t get the ball enough, Butch Jones can’t get players to rally around him, and that defense is just terrible. Kirby Smart is a better coach, Jake Fromm is a better quarterback, Mel Tucker leads a better defense. On paper, Georgia should win easily.

But what’s on paper often doesn’t match what’s on the field. If Georgia buys into the hype too much, if they aren’t focused, and if they don’t put the win over Mississippi state behind them, they might set themselves up for failure.

Next: Georgia gets another commitment

The Volunteers are already on the ropes. In all seriousness, the knock out shot should come early. Against their defense, Georgia better run for at least 250 yards. Fromm should also have a similar performance to what we saw Saturday. Defensively, the Bulldogs just need to play like they have all year.

Lets not suffer any kind of letdown typical of games following major victories. The Georgia Bulldogs need to stay focused on the goal, and like Smart says, “attack the day.”
