Improved offensive line play needs to continue.

One of the most surprising developments from the game this weekend was the offensive line. The unit seemed to get a lot more push than it did in previous weeks and it made lanes for our running backs. That was one of the biggest reasons that UGA was able to move the ball so well.

They were up against a solid Mississippi State front as well. That unit took away the run from the LSU Tigers the other week and they have some talent that will play on Sundays. There’s no doubt that the play calling helped, Georgia ran some more exotic run sets than they previously had done and that confused the defense. However, the push-up front still helped build those lanes.

Solomon Kindley really made a big impact. His added weight and power was exactly what this unit needed this week. It was tough to see him go off towards the end of the game. Hopefully, his injury isn’t too serious, there is no doubt the line looked better when he was in there. Isaiah Wynn also looks much better in 2017 than he did last year. His block in Nick chubb’s second TD was amazing.

With freshman Andrew Thomas continuing to develop and get better each week, this unit is growing. We saw Ben Cleveland so a bit and he impressed. If this unit can continue to grow and improve as the season goes on, opponents should be worried. If Georgia’s line can start dominating the line of scrimmage, this offense could be almost impossible to stop.

Next: Top performers from the Miss. State win.

Next week will be a big test for this unit, Tennessee does have a big defensive front. If Sam Pittman can keep this unit focused and improving, that game could get away quickly.
