Terry Godwin

Remember during the summer when story after story mentioned how Godwin was the number two receiver in each of his last two seasons? They all mentioned how he was supposed to be the leader in 2016 after Malcolm Mitchell left, but Isaiah McKenize emerged. Then they brought up Riley Ridley and Javon Wims as other receivers that Godwin could be number two to in 2017.

So much for that. He leads the team with 327 receiving yards with five touchdowns on 12 catches. Prior to 2017, Godwin caught 73 passes for 776 yards with two touchdowns. He’s accomplished as much through six games as he did in the entire 2015 and 2016 seasons.

As for the Vanderbilt game, he caught two passes, both were important to their drives. His last catch was a 47-yard touchdown where he outran a corner back and made the grab right on the goal line to score.

Godwin is Fromm’s favorite target through six games. He’s not only making catches, but he’s making great runs after his catches. He’s been very fun to watch this season.
