Will Fromm remain the starter all year?

Let’s start off with the million dollar question, shall we? Everyone seems to be wondering right now what is going to happen this year between Fromm and Eason. As I wrote the other week, I am not yet convinced that Fromm is a better QB than Eason.

He has played really well for a True Freshman, but he has yet to be asked by the coaches to put the game on his back and win a game. Right now, he has been asked to throw between 12 and 15 passes a game. That’s because our running game has been so dominant and we’ve been taking on teams that we are vastly better than.

I don’t think that can continue and at some point, we will need Fromm to win us a game. Can he do that? I don’t think anyone can say that they know right now. We’ve never seen him do it. We know that Eason can. He did it several times in his freshman year even though there were some games where he looked terrible.

I’ve said it before, I would not be shocked if Eason finds a way to win back the starting job before the season ends. It’s a great media narrative to say that this is Fromm’s job now, but the team is going to play the best guy. If it’s clear to the locker room that Eason is better, he is going to start.
