The best newcomer – Jake Fromm

Who else? Fromm took over for Jacob Eason in the first quarter against Appalachian State and hasn’t looked back. He’s completing over 60-percent of his passes and he ha’s thrown for 1,162 yards with 12 touchdowns with only three interceptions.

Chubb and Michel might be the engine of the offense, but Fromm has proven himself to be an efficient driver. Mistakes are kept to a minimum and he makes plays with his legs when he has to. This is the best that Georgia’s offense has looked since 2014 and we all knew that the only thing missing was a quarterback. Safe to say that Georgia has their quarterback now.

Honorable mention – D’Andre Swift

The future looks bright at running back. Again, Chubb and Michel make this offense what it is. But its players like Swift that make the offense scary for defenses. When people say that Swift would start at almost any program in America, they’re not exaggerating.

He’s a third stringer with 358 yards. That has him on track to reach 700 rushing yards if Georgia wins the SEC East. And he’s coming off his best game of the season, a 94-yard performance against Missouri.

Athens will miss Chubb and Michel next year. But because of Swift (and Brian Herrien, Elijah Holyfield, Zamir White and possibly more), the Bulldog nation shouldn’t fret over the running back position.

Honorable mention – J.R. Reed

We didn’t quite know what we were getting when Reed transferred from Tulsa. After all, he wasn’t even coming from a power-five school. However, he proves time and time again that he deserved more recruitment coming out of high school.

The man is always around the ball. If he isn’t, expect him to get there very soon. And he doesn’t miss tackles either. When he hits the ball carrier, they either go down or are slowed down enough to be caught in a gang tackle. Plus, he’s just a sophomore. We have potentially two more years with him.
