Nick Chubb and Sony Michel

Despite running against a loaded box all game long, both Chubb and Michel seemed to have no problem running on South Carolina’s defense. Chubb rushed for 102 yards on 20 carries while Michel rushed for 81 yards on 16 carries. Michel also had one catch for 16 yards, and Chubb had one catch for nine yards.

Again, this is in spite of South Carolina loading the box and keying on them all game long. Everyone has done that to Georgia all season. But Chubb still has 897 yards so far this season while Michel has 710. Which puts both well on track to pass 1,000 yards this season with at least five games left to play.

Chubb and Michel are already the best running back duo in school history with Chubb having over 4,000 career rushing yards and Michel having over 3,000. They can be the first duo in school history to pass 1,000 in a season together and they can both break Lars Tate’s school record for rushing yards by a senior.

But knowing them, they’re more concerned about helping Georgia win games than they are with breaking records. But if we need them to break records to win, they’ll gladly oblige.
