Georgia football: Top performers from the Bulldogs win over Georgia Tech
Rest of the defense
Roquan Smith stood out the most, but it takes a team to stop the triple option. A defense must plug the middle, avoid cut blocks, key on three different players at once and respect the deep pass. All on every play.
And the Junkyard Dawgs did that beautifully Saturday afternoon. Tech barely had more than 200 yards and only ran for 188 yards. Georgia contained the quarterback, fullback and all the slot backs while keeping receivers from getting open for most of the game.
Of course, any time a team only gives up seven points, you can consider that a good game. Georgia Tech is one of the biggest challenges every year because of their offensive style. But Georgia seemed to brush them off with ease Saturday.
